The Matangeni Support Group Livelihoods Project works with a group of persons living with disabilities in the Matangeni area, providing start-up capital, training and mentorship for income generating activities including poultry keeping and small trade.
The project has grown from an initial cohort of 12 members to over 30 active participants, with a savings and table-banking structure that has enabled several members to expand their own enterprises.
12 founding members formally registered as a self-help group.
Initial poultry and small-trade capital distributed to members.
Savings and lending structure introduced, enabling internal borrowing.
Membership grew from 12 to over 30 active participants.
Members began branching into dairy farming and apiary alongside poultry.
